Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
This policy explains what personal information M2M (“Mentored to Mentor,” “we,” “our”) collects when you use our website and services, why we collect it, how it is shared, and the choices you have over it. It applies to mentors, mentees, and anyone who visits our public pages.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, a securely hashed password, and your role (mentor or mentee). As you build your profile you may add a photo, a bio, your goals, focus areas, availability, and other details you choose to share.
Content you create. The messages, poll answers, calls, and session details you produce across the platform — for example conversations with mentors or mentees you are matched with.
Signing in with Google or Facebook. If you use a social sign-in, we receive the basic profile information that provider returns to us (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) and store it only after you create a M2M account.
Technical information. Device and browser details, IP address, log data, and cookies or similar technologies that keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and keep the service secure.
2. How we use your information
- To run your account: sign you in, verify your email or device, and keep sessions secure.
- To provide the mentorship experience: match you with people, carry your messages, calls, and schedules, and remember your settings.
- To keep the community safe: detect misuse, investigate reports, and meet our legal obligations.
- To improve the product and, where you expect it, send service-related communications.
3. Legal bases
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: the performance of our contract with you (running your account and the service), your consent where you have given it (for example social sign-in), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and improving the service), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Sharing and disclosure
- People you communicate with. Mentors and mentees you are matched with see the profile information you choose to share and the messages you send them.
- Service providers. Hosting, storage, analytics, email, and communication providers who process data only on our behalf and under our instructions.
- Social sign-in providers. Google and Facebook operate independently and their use of your data is governed by their own policies, not this one.
- Legal and protection reasons. Where required by law, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or prevent abuse.
- Business transfers. If M2M is acquired or restructured, user data may transfer as part of the transaction.
We do not sell your personal information or your messages to anyone.
5. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. When it is, we rely on appropriate safeguards to keep it protected.
6. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. See our data deletion instructions for how to remove your account and data.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, secure password storage, and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and you can help by keeping your login details private and telling us about anything that looks wrong.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Update or remove the information in your account settings.
- Delete your account and data using our data deletion instructions.
- Contact us to exercise any other right — see section 11.
9. Children
M2M is intended for people who are eligible to use it in their country of residence. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13, and the service is not directed at them. Where a member is under the applicable age of digital consent, we ask that a parent or guardian consent to their use of the service.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be highlighted on this page, and the “last updated” date at the top tells you when it changed.
11. Contact us
Questions, requests, or concerns? Email us at privacy@m2m.example. To delete your account and data, follow the data deletion instructions.
